Yahnny San Luis-Wallgren is the CEO of Klättermusen Experiences, the adventure travel arm of Sweden’s heritage mountaineering brand. A Filipina American with Polynesian roots, she is carving space in one of tourism’s most male-dominated sectors. Her mission: to expand who belongs in the outdoors and to show that community-rooted trips can be both viable and valuable for all involved.
Her perspective is shaped by a lifetime of breaking barriers. Growing up in Philadelphia as the daughter of immigrants, she faced exclusion early and turned to sports as her outlet — and ultimately her edge. After a serious car accident, she relearned to walk and went on to compete as a professional triathlete and elite cyclist. That same endurance is the hallmark of her leadership today. With more than two decades in hospitality and outdoor travel, she has built companies from the ground up, generated $45M+ in sales, and led teams and projects across 50 countries, from Iceland to Costa Rica. But it’s in Hawai’i, where she led a luxury adventure company, that she witnessed how travel companies can either reduce cultures into performance or treat residents as equitable partners who share their heritage with outsiders.
Now based in Sweden, Yahnny is determined to challenge an industry still built on sameness and to widen the future of adventure travel for the next generation of leaders.
